She Is Always Talking With God

She gets a certain look in her eye,
or maybe the pace of her breathing changes.
These are the times spent
deep in prayer
Is there another like her?
One standing in the gap,
ready at a moment's notice
to intercede for others?
Always I've wanted to know
the practice of fervent prayer
of the truly consecrated to prayer
and now I do.
Talking with her about her prayer life
face is both joyful and sad
her thinking of talking with Father
but also of those not noticing how
With so many teachings and tools
at our beckon call
we have dulled the miracle
that is ours to freely partake in
God wants to have conversation with us
and how do we behave?
As if prayer was a chore or stale milk
Shame on us. Blessings to the prayer warriors

Weep When They Weep

I've seen her begin to share praise,
even before the celebration begins.
I've seen tears silently run down her cheeks,
until their bitterness ends

Such is the convicted life
dedicated to intercessory prayer
and in fashion of Romans 12:15
it matters not when or where.

An example we should all follow
And rather our enemies we scorn
With them rejoice when they do rejoice
and mourn when they do mourn

There Becomes a Gaze

There is a gaze that overcomes her face
As Intercession takes its place
at the forefront of her heart
and her eyes fill with wonder, mercy, grace

Its as if she enters a special zone
A place I don't think I've ever known
She stands apart and yet in that gap
I know that being apart is not being alone.

For she has been given a gift and given a task
On behalf of others, to talk with God and simply ask
without judgment or bias to station or pace
I see her do this all thru the day, it's not a mask.

We are blessed to witness in this one
unafraid to go where others might shun
For her, prayer is a calling and a conversation
Sometimes spontaneous, but never undone

Through Loving Eyes

She begins living each day with loving eyes
Smiling and offering me hugs before
Off to a walk 'n' talk of sorts

Upon her exercise machine she climbs
with worship music playing she goes
to a conversation with Father

She knows of my presence
But is embraced with His presence
This woman is to me a present

Different is she, a woman like no other
Unique are we, friends longed for
And God has put us together

I've not known her long
(Though it seems like a lifetime)
And I want to share her

Living each day
Through my loving eyes
She is a gift from God to all of us.
